Yes, I was one of those men persuaded into watching some of the Miss Universe Pageant by his wife. I don't hate watching it (a lot of pretty ladies to watch, after all), but it's all a bit slow for me. I know that my wife likes the to see the swimsuits, the evening dresses, etc. She's really into clothes. I was, however, struck by Miss U.S.A. falling for the second year on her gown and I cannot help but thinking that this was a case of negative thinking. Perhaps it was stuck in her head that Miss U.S.A. fell last year and she couldn't get it out. I believe that this is a common problem with people, a negative thought sticking in the head and disupting that person's life.

Nothing against MIss U.S.A. She's a pretty lady, and I certainly wouldn't want to second guess the judges on this most important contest, but perhaps they should have chosen Miss Florida to compete in the Miss Universe Contest (see photo below).

Wow I didn't get to watch she fell down again. I saw a quick little piece on Good Morning America but I missed most of it and wasn't sure what they were talking about. You are right she was probably saying I'm not going to fall over and over again in her head!
you could be right but we'll never know
That could be what happened and then again it also could have been that her dress was to just to long. Years ago I was a pageant winner and I can tell you that some of the dresses were very heavy, we were in very high heels and then had the lights in our face so it was hard to see as well.
Lloyd, You might just have something there. Makes sense to me.
I don't see much difference between the two ladies. both are good looking ladies.
You are so right, about the positive/negative thinking as well as pageants being slow. Most are very attractive, but it is soooo slow, I just can't watch. There are other places to get my eye candy.
Yep.... It sure was an exciting evening with the Ms. Universe Pagent. As you already know ..... I was stuck watching it also.

If she was really using negative thinking, she would have thought "Gee, last year Miss USA fell on her can. This year, I'll wear a slightly shorter dress and avoid falling altogether."
She was probably "Positive" she wouldn't make the same mistake and viola...history repeats itself.

What I liked most is that she had the sense of humor of applauding herself when she got up.
